International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) - Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance Project Manager

Carmen García Duro has been working for almost 15 years in logistics in the humanitarian world, 8 of them in the field with different organizations and 5 years in HQ as a head of sector for logistics. 

 

Three years ago, she undertook an MBA on sustainable business, as sustainability was something she had always been attracted to. In September 2020, she took the position of Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance Project Manager, where different initiatives are being developed in terms of:  fleet (fleet, workshop waste management), purchasing (Quality, Social and Environmental assessments, improvement of the sustainability of our EHI and a R&D project to have a more sustainable tarpaulin, etc). 

 

At the same time ICRC has developed a carbon accounting tool and ICRC is working with other humanitarian organizations to validate a common methodology for carbon accounting as well as develop a free and easy to use carbon tool in the sector.
