Exchanging Experiences: Jordan Country Office and Iraq Country Office
World Food Programme (WFP) Jordan Country Office (CO) organised a workshop for the Fleet team in the Dead Sea for 2 days on 1-2 October. It was a unique learning experience and is the first kind of event in the CO which was specifically for the Fleet team, in both English/Arabic, and with all of them in one learning room!
The workshop was facilitated by CO Administration Staff: Ms. Tamara Khoury, Mr. Iyad Badri and Ms. Nuha Abdulraheem along with Fleet Management Expert: Mr. Wasem Sabah from the Iraq Country Office. The participants were trained on several Fleet Management tools and systems such as:
- UN Humanitarian Booking Hub,
- Digital logbook,
- Trip validation,
- Vehicles disposal,
- Vehicle maintenance and
- Tracking system.
It focused on expected professional & personal behaviour for drivers, vehicle, and driver Management including engaging team-building activities and ICT-sessions to build their capacities. The team also benefitted from dedicated sessions from Country Office HR, Staff Counsellor, and HQ Mobility expert teams. During the sessions, the Head of Support Services, Ms. Anjali Aneja reiterated the important role that fleet plays in delivering WFP’s mandate and thanked them for their incredible contribution during all times and in particular during the challenging COVID period.
The feedback received from the group was outstanding and each one of them felt more connected to the team and WFP’s mandate.
Overall, it was an interactive retreat, which provided the right environment to have productive discussions. The participants were delighted and expressed interest to continue this learning journey with more such sessions targeting their needs.
This is indeed just the beginning, there will be more exchange and experience sharing sessions while JOCO works towards improving and digitalizing the Fleet procedures. Some online sessions have already been conducted and more to come on the topics of interest…Stay tuned!
