Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context:
The Fleet and Assets Management Unit operates within the Supply Chain Division, serving as the main entity for managing and ensuring the efficient and sustainable utilization of IOM’s fixed and low-value assets. This includes: sourcing, acquiring, registering, tagging, insuring, assigning, tracking, re-assigning, maintaining, and disposing of a diverse range of assets, such as machinery, equipment, vehicles, and more.
The unit is tasked with overseeing the entire lifecycle of these properties, from acquisition to disposal, in strict adherence to the internal assets policies and procedures. The unit is also overseeing fleet management including implementing cost-effective strategies, and leveraging technology, such as movements tracking system, GPS tracking, insurance management, repair and maintenance schedules, fuel efficiency to enhancing sustainability and control over the transportation processes.
